Residence of the Patriarch - the Catholicos of all Armenians
The residence of the head of the Armenian Apostolic Church is in the court yard of the complex. Right at the entrance to the residence of the Catholicos tower the “Trdat Gate” built in the form of an arch. Although they have been repeatedly reconstructed the stone blocks of the 4 th century in its foundation remained. It is believed that the site of the gate was formerly occupied by the palace of Armenian tsars.
