In the small settlement of Garni which stretches along the gorge with a little river Azat, there is the archaeological complex called Garni.
It consists of the ruins of once mighty fortress, the remains a temple, typical Roman baths with surviving mosaic floors and ,of course, the temple where people worshipped Mitra, the Sun God.
