Why Azerbaijan?

  • According to the forecasts of the Ministry of Economic Development of the country, the growth of GDP in Azerbaijan will total 30.5% in 2006.
  • In the next 20 years the oil product revenues of Azerbaijan will exceed $140 billion.
  • The 2004-2008 State Program of social-economical development of the regions of the Azerbaijan Republic envisages a 10-15% growth in all branches of the GDP structure, including agriculture and expects the volume of investment from all financial sources to reach $16.8 billion, approximately 60% of which will be targeted at the development of the regions.
  • According to the Ministry of Economic Development, Azerbaijan GDP in 2008 will increase by 2.3 times as compared to the year 2003 and will total $15 billion. According to the forecasts, the share of the oil sector in GDP will constitute 85%, whereas the share of the regions will make up 60-65%. 60% of the total volume of investment will be targeted at the regions.
  • Opening of 600 thousand new jobs and growth of the salary by over 3.1 times is expected in the republic in 2004-2008.
  • According to the forecasts of the Ministry of Economic Development, the volume of investment into the economy of the county will total $6 billion in 2006, which is by 36.6% more than the respective statistical figure from 2005.
  • Azerbaijan occupies a leading place among CIS countries according to the figures reflecting growth of investment into the basic capital over the past five years.
  • Economic growth in CIS countries over the first five months of 2006 constituted on average 6%. The highest economical growth in CIS countries during the mentioned period was witnessed in Azerbaijan and constituted 38%.
