- The volume of GDP in Azerbaijan in January-September 2006 reached $14 billion 144.6 million that was 34% growth compared with same period last year. According to the State Committee on Statistics, the industry shares 71.4% of GDP. Azerbaijan's government expects GDP amounted $20.6 billion this year and $24.66 billion in 2007 allowing 26.3% of growth.
- Azerbaijan has maintained its status as the attractive country for investing – the total volume of investments is expected in amount of $6.55 billion.
- Trade turnover of Azerbaijan totaled $8.6 billion for nine months in 2006. $2.1 billion made up the trade operations with CIS, $6.5 billion felt on other countries. The main trade partners are Italy, Turkey, Russia, Israel, Iran, Great Britain, Germany, Ukraine, Poland.
Furniture Market
- According to the statistics the growth of furniture production sector made up 63.4% in January-July 2006. There is manufacturing of home, office and special furniture established and functioning in Azerbaijan. Upholstered furniture production has being launched in the country.
- Growth and development of the local manufacture promote the increase of import of equipment and new technologies, accessories and components for furniture manufacture. The main exporters of them are Germany, Italy, Poland, Russia, Turkey.
- More than 400 furniture showrooms in capital city and big towns of the country make up the trading network of the furniture and accessories for furniture manufacture.
- The main countries-exporters of ready furniture to Azerbaijan are Italy, Turkey, Russia, China, Malaysia, Poland, Romania, Ukraine, U.A.E., Iran etc. The furniture made in Azerbaijan are exported to Georgia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia.
