Exhibition Objectives

• To demonstrate the development of the regions and of the Gandja-Gazakh economic region in particular
• To demonstrate the economic achievements in the region and reflect the interest taken in this region by the business sector and investors
• To step up the process of integration and development of cooperation the Western region and other regions of Azerbaijan.
• To create a forum for exchange of ideas and experience between the businessmen of the region and potential investors.
To promote further formation and development of the industrial sector in Gandja .

Gandja: Industrial Centre

• The second largest city in Azerbaijan and industrial centre of the Gandja-Gazakh economic region.
• Total area is 12.49 thousand square kilometres (14.4% of the overall territory of the country)
• Total number of population is over 1.1 million people (13.6% the overall population of the country)
• The Gandja-Gazakh economic region is rich in mineral wealth such as iron ore, alunite, limestone, marbles, gypsum, zeolite and cement raw materials. Such reserves as the Dashkesan iron ore, Zeylik alunite and Khoshbulag limestone are of industrial significance.
• The north-western region remains one of the priority regions for investment in the framework of the 2004-2008 government program of developing the regions.
Owing to its economic significance, the Gandja-Gazakh economic region occupies the second place in the country and supplies 12-13% of the total volume of industrial production of the country. The industry of this economic region consists of the extractive and processing branches.
