On the confluence of the two mountain rivers - the Gega and Yupshara there is another surprising phenomenon of Abkhazian nature – the Gega waterfall. It is formed by the river stream flowing from underground karstic cave through an imperceptible crevice in the rock. It seems that the huge water stream is falling from 50- meter height bursting out directly from the rock. This amazing sigh is even more effective in sunny weather when the water stream sparkles in sun rays, forms a rainbow and a fountain of millions splashes at the bottom. The air is always fresh and cool there. By the way, the famous fight between Sherlock Holmes and professor Moriarti from the film “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and doctor Watson” was shot there |
