Mount Mamdzyshkha towers over Gagra . It is 6 km from the city and stands 1,873 meters tall. In the early 20 th century the winding Alpine road leading from Old Gagra to Mount Mamdzyshkha top, where a high mountain resort was supposed to be, was built.
It is quite probable that this project will soon be accomplished because Mount Mamdzyshkha has all the qualities of a mountain resort: lots of sun, pure rarefied air saturated with fragrance of the woods, abundance of tasty pure water.
