10 km from Gudauta there is a big Abkhazian village called Duripsh. There one can see the ruins of Duripsh fortress (the 14 th – 15 th centuries) with a high tower and a big floor-embedded jug for water storage on the second level. Nor far from the village are located well-known Durpsh karstic caves, two of them the deepest in the world (the Snowy and the Volcano). |
