National Georgian dishes hit the list of most delicious cuisines in EuropeThrillist, an American men's digital lifestyle publisher providing all that's new, unknown or under-appreciated in food, drink, etc., compiled a rating of countries with the most delicious and unusual national cuisine. Georgian cuisine took the 4th place among other 48 countries and received enthusiastic reviews from the authors of the rating. Georgia was superseded by Spain, France and Italy.

First of all, Georgian cuisine outstands with spices: cilantro, dried marigold and other spices and herbs. Different regions combine them in their own way. That is why the same dish tastes differently from town to town. Khachapuri Adjaruli, a soft pastry with melted cheese and a raw egg on the top, was named the most interesting and delicious among Georgian dishes. Khachapuri is so popular and beloved among Georgians that the National Center of intellectual ownership of Georgia worked out a bill to trademark Khachapuri in 2010. In 2011 a patent was drawn up for this simple and at the same time authentic food.

Thrillist hasn’t left other popular dishes of the Georgian cuisine unheeded. Khinkali – dumpling knots with juicy beef, lamb or pork filling. Kuchmachi – a dish from giblets, not the most exquisite but definitely delicious, that combines aromas of pork, fried garlic, coriander and pomegranate seeds. Chahohbili is a sweet chicken ragu. Tkemali sauce often served to meat and side dishes; traditionally, its main ingredients are sour plums, garlic and various herbs.
