Completely renewed touristic infrastructure of the Martvili Canyon is ready to receive its guests in May 2016, - reports Information Agency Black Sea Press with the reference to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Georgia.
There were new tourist roads and bridges constructed on the territory of the Martvili Canyon; stairs carved in the stone since the times of the Dadiani dynasty and an old wind mill were restored.
Martvili Canyon or Gachedili Canyon, as some people call it, is located five km away from the Martvili city center to the south of the Gachedili village. It is a popular summer resort among locals and tourists. Canyon is divided into the Upper and Lower parts. In the Upper part, it is possible to take boats, and in the Lower – swim. Coolness and freshness always prevail there, that is why it is a great place to escape during hot summer. You can also find such attractions as Chkondidi monastery, Balda waterfalls and Didiani Palace not far from the Martvili Canyon.
