New flight connects Batumi and Yekaterinburg

Ural AirlinesOn 28 April Ural Airlines ran the first direct flight from Yekaterinburg to Batumi, the Alexander Kartveli Batumi International Airport, reports the information agency Sputnik Georgia.

Regular flights Yekaterinburg – Batumi are operated on Thursdays and Mondays. On Thursdays, the flight U6-2637 departs Yekaterinburg at 06.50 and arrives in Batumi at 09.25. The return flight U6-2638 leaves Batumi at 10.30 and lands in Yekaterinburg at 15.00. On Mondays, the flight U6-2637 from Yekaterinburg departs at 09.00 and arrives in Batumi at 11.35. The return flight U6-2638 from Batumi leaves at 12.40 and arrives in Yekaterinburg at 17.10.

As of May 16 direct flights will connect Batumi with Saint Petersburg on the days.

Regular direct flights between Russia and Georgia were cancelled in 2006. The decision on resumption of regular flights between Moscow and Tbilisi was agreed on 24 October 2014. Today flights between Georgia and Russia are operated by four airlines: S7, Aeroflot and Ural Airlines from Russian, and Georgian Airways from Georgian side.
