Pitsunda Cape has a small Lake Inkit fed by the river Bzyb. The area of the lake is 0.6 square kilometers with the maximum depth of 5 meters. The dark blue water of Inkit is transparent and clear.
Long time ago the lake was connected to the Black Sea and served as internal harbor for the ancient city of Pitiunt . On the shores of Inkit the archeologists found a number of interesting antique objects and the foundations of ancient structures. According to the legend the ancient temple stood near the lake it was flooded as a result of Inkit shores lowering.
Tourists frequently visit Lake Inkit . You can fish, swim and enjoy the view sitting in a small Abkhazian cuisine cafe.
