Pitsunda Landmarks - Pine Grove

The resort symbol, a pine tree, is carefully protected by the pine reserve of Pitsunda (since 1926). Its territory of 200 hectares has more than 30 thousand trees – the representatives of the rare species of Pitsunda pine. It is distinguished by unusually long needles. Pitsunda Cape is the only place where Pitsunda pines grow in such quantities. The pine grove frames the peninsula as far as 7 km . All the trees in the grove are numbered by means of small tablets with figures. Some trees are over 200 years old. The greatest pine in the grove is called "Patriarch" (50 m in height, 7.5m in girth).
