On the way down from the lake there is the Museum of Georgian Folk Architecture (1960). It is located in the open air and looks like a huge village with houses, yards and manors from different ethnic regions of Georgia – Kakhetia, Svaneti, Mingrelia and others. The collection includes more than a hundred exhibits. There are even famous Svaneti towers there. Each house reflects the style of architecture peculiar to the area. Inside the houses it is possible to see the features of everyday life of Georgian people. |
