About Exhibition
CEM Central Asia is "one of the most important business forums in the Republic of Kazakhstan and Central Asia in production and sale of household equipment, which gives the exhibitors an opportunity to show the state-of-the-art products of world manufacturers to the broad audience", and to discover the new prospects of promoting the products in the Central Asian market.

It is not by chance that the International Exhibition of Household Appliances, Consumer Electronics and Houseware CEM Central Asia 2006 is held in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Favourably located in the heart of Central Asia, Almaty is the main financial centre of Kazakhstan and of the whole Central Asian region, which has a stable economy. The area possesses significant potential for further development, and most business and trade routes are concentrated here.
The Republic of Kazakhstan itself is a rapidly developing CIS state with a high pace of economic growth and development, which contributes to the growth of the standard of living and to the formation of a strong and stable domestic infrastructure and trade in the Central Asian region. The following facts testify to this:
- Over 10 months of 2005, GDP growth in Kazakhstan has grown by about 9%.
- As of September 2005, the overall sales volume has increased by 13.4%, while foreign trade turnover has increased by 42%.
- Over 10 months of this year, inflation was at the level of 6%. Inflation of prices to domestic appliances was equal to 3.7%.
- In August 2005, nominal personal income has increased by 21.1% in comparison to August 2004, while actual personal income has increased by 9.6% since January 2005.
- Average monthly salary level overall in the Republic has increased by 25%, in Almaty – by 30%, and the average nominal salary amount has exceeded 32,000 tenge (240 US dollars).

CEM Central Asia 2005 introduced four world brands of household equipment and electronics to the local market. These brands are: Days (Days Group, Hong Kong), Gorenje (Gorenje d d Velenija, Slovenia), Liebherr (Liebherr Export AG, Switzerland), and Star Electronics (Star, Azerbaijan).
A new section, Home Devices, was presented at CEM Central Asia for the first time, where local and foreign companies were given an opportunity to demonstrate their products, such as kitchen utensils, elite dishes, heat resisting dishes, tableware, and many more.
