Why Kazakhstan?

Kazakhstan possesses a wide range of mineral resources with significant oil and gas reserves that ranks Republic as one of the largest oil producers in the world.

On the 20th of Dec 2005, International Rating Agency Fitch Ratings Ltd. raised Kazakhstan sovereign credit rating up to ÂÂÂ in foreign currency and ÂÂÂ+ in local currency. At the same time, the agency confirmed F3 level for short-term foreign currency. All the ratings are specified as “stable”.

Kazakhstan's sovereign rating is maintained with strong macro economical effect, structural reforms progress, and stable reactions to internal and external challenges, as well as stable oil and gas sector growth. Kazakhstan runs powerful government finance. The European Union and the USA have recognized Kazakhstan as the country with market economy.

The population comprises of 16, 8 million, 60% of them permanently reside in cities and 40% reside in villages.

Medical Market in Kazakhstan

$690 million were drawn into Kazakhstan healthcare sector in 2006, which exceeds the 2005 figure to 69%. Among the main expenditure items there are 39 national healthcare programs. 52.5 % of the budget is intended for local authorities operating by means of municipal finances.

1,204 hospitals (162 of them are specialized) medical and 3463 ambulatory-clinical medical organizations operate in the Republic. The number of medical organizations increased in 7 regions of Kazakhstan. State authorities forecast the hospital accommodation equal to 120,000.

Over 54,800 doctors and 117,000 nursing personnel practice in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

There are over 200 wholesale medical equipment and pharmaceuticals companies in Kazakhstan.

According to the Program of reforming and development of public health approved by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, by 2008 public health expenses will increase to 4% GDP. $1, 2 billion were allocated for development of public health sector in 2005-2007and $440 million of them were laid out for 2006.
