Social Partnership of the Oil and Gas Sector for the Future of Kazakhstan
Today, the oil and gas complex is Kazakhstan’s largest and most dynamically developing industry. Kazakhstan boasts considerable oil and gas reserves making it possible for the country to be ranked among the major oil producers in the world. Kazakhstan’s rich hydrocarbon resources secure competitive advantages for the country. The rational use thereof with the maximum profit for the country is one of the main tasks set by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the Government.
For the first time ever, Iteca LLP, an exhibition company of Kazakhstan, and its international partner, ITE Group Plc. of the United Kingdom, hold the two-day-long Astana Petroleum Exhibition & Conference 2009 in Astana, whose topic is stated as follows: Social Partnership and Ecology Protection.
Astana Petroleum Exhibition & Conference 2009 provides a unique platform for the key oil and gas industry stakeholders to discuss the most important socio-economic and ecological issues and prospects of not only local and regional but also of the national scale.
The conference is designed to support the Message of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev to the people of Kazakhstan dated 06 February 2008, in which the President paid special attention to the considerable contribution made by the major national oil and gas and other sector companies. Every year, the leading companies put their funds in the development of social-purpose facilities: schools, medical and pre-school institutions, health centres, rehabilitation centres for physically challenged persons, culture and sports installations. These bright examples of corporate social responsibility deserve general recognition and by any means need to be supported by mass media and such large-scale events as Astana Petroleum Exhibition & Conference 2009.
The top-priority task of this event is to strengthen the positions of the oil and gas industry stakeholders as active participants in socio-economic and ecological projects, as well as to promote enhancement of the planning system, increased efficiency of utilisation of investment designed to ensure social well-being and to raise the quality of life activity of the people of Kazakhstan.
