About exhibition

Kazakhstan is the world’s leading nation in terms of proven reserves of uranium, with 21% of their total quantity concentrated in its subsurface. Kazakhstan can potentially become one of the key players in the world nuclear market possessing considerable reserves of natural uranium and nuclear fuel components production.

In 2009 Kazakhstan came out on top in uranium mining in the world, having produced about 14,000 tonnes of uranium. In 2010, plans are in place to increase uranium production in Kazakhstan up to 18,000 tons. At the same time, the country will take the leading position in the world in uranium mining in the period of the maximum demand for it.

The Government of Kazakhstan has plans to create fully vertically-integrated complex of nuclear fuel cycle facilities. As of today, there are two process stages in Kazakhstan: uranium mining and production of powders and fuel pellets. Work is in progress for adding up all such missing links in the nuclear fuel cycle as the uranium conversion and enrichment, and the production of fuel assemblies.

Kazakhstan has also realistic plans for the development of nuclear energy. The Government of Kazakhstan plans to put into operation at least one nuclear power plant in the territory of the country before 2020, to which end preparatory work is already underway.

Kazatomexpo 2012 will demonstrate the world’s latest developments in nuclear energy and industry.

The main sections of the Exhibition are: nuclear power plant equipment and technology; nuclear instrumentation; nuclear fuel cycle technology; stable and radioactive isotope products and instrumentation; radiation processing; environmental monitoring and protection system; training of staff for nuclear power, advanced training; engineering and management of NPP construction projects, consulting; information and communications technologies in nuclear power; nuclear power plants, safe operation; decommissioning of nuclear facilities; nuclear science, innovative projects; nanotechnologies and nanomaterials for nuclear power; construction of nuclear power plants and others.

If you are involved in nuclear power and nuclear industry and are looking to increase your business in the Region, don’t miss this unique opportunity to stay ahead of the competition, update your knowledge and skills and see the latest industry developments.
