Brief information about Atyrau and Main Oil Projekts
- Atyrau oblast is taking a leading position within the republic in terms of attracting investments, which made up 686,7 bln tenge or 27,8% of the republican volume in 2005.
- There were 17,2 mln tons of oil and 7468 mln cubic meters of gas produced in 2005 or 106% and 115% as compared to the level of 2002.
- It is expected that a 30 mln level would be achieved by 2008.
- By 2015 level of oil extraction in the Kazakhstan sector of the Caspian Sea shall reach 88 mln tons and that of gas 80 bln cubic meters.
- There are currently 14 companies operating within the territory of oil and gas sector, the most important of which are TCO and PF Embamunaigas producing up to 95% of the entire production level.
Tengiz
Projects of a second generation Plant and the Crude gas injections into formation (PSG/CGI)
Are the next stage of expansion of the TCO capacity, which provides for an increase in production in Tengiz from 12 mln to 24 mln tons of oil per year and a possibility to annual injection of 993 mln cubic meters of a sulfur free gas back into the collector.
The amount of the works on PGS/CGI stipulates construction of 39 production and 8 delivery wells, a second generation plant, gas injection equipment and also a new infrastructure of export oil production.
Kashagan
In the nearest 2 years, the extensive reserves of oil in the Kazakhstan part of the Caspian shelf industrial production is expected to begin. According to the state program of exploration and the assessment program of Kashagan, there were two artificial islands built, there have been 6 exploration and 6 assessment wells drilled, a three-dimensional seismic was conducted.
Within exploitation drilling of Kashagan four exploration wells were drilled and a drilling of another one was began.
Embamunaigas
Within the program of the industrial and innovation development of the region OGML Prorvaneft is to finish the construction of the industrial, this shall provide for purification of gas from the sulfur substances.
Nowadays the experimental works are conducted with regard to applying the new methods of increasing an oil output of the collector.
Atyrau Refinery
Within the reconstruction project of Plant, as a result of fulfillment of the project in Kazakhstan a fuel satisfying international standards shall be produced.
On May12 the following was constructed:
- Equipment for the production of benzene (hydro fining of nafta, isomerisation)
- Equipment for hydro fining/deparaffinization of the diesel fuel
- Equipment for the sulfur production
The depth of the oil refinery shall be equal to 82%.
