Astana has become 56-th member of the World Tourism City Federation, which includes the world’s largest megalopolises and tourist centers. As per official Kazakhstan metropolitan site astana.kz, Astana received an invitation to membership from the Federation Council Chairman Wang Anshun who is also Seoul mayor.
This fourth largest tourist union includes already Los-Angeles, Rome, Berlin, Macao, Peking, London, Vienna, Moscow, Minsk, Tel-Aviv and many other cities. It is interesting that, before inclusion of Astana to the World Tourism City Federation, there were only two member-cities from post-Soviet space - Moscow and Minsk.
Astana is reported to attract the World Tourism City Federation with a convenient geographic position, developed infrastructure, rich and interesting history, availability of unique architectural facilities and structures as well as high-level services and active application of modern technologies.
