Spain and Portugal are ready to help Astana with holding EXPO-2017. It has been reported by Kazakh mass media with reference to the comments of Yerlan Idrisov, Kazakhstan Foreign Minister.
On 15-16 May Mr. Idrisiov was on a working visit in Lisbon. He visited “Park of Nations”, where Portugal hosted EXPO exhibition in1998. In the course of the official visit, the day before, Kazakh Foreign Minister discussed preparation work for EXPO-2017 with Spain Senate Speaker Pio Garcia-Escudero and UN WTO Executive Director Zoltan Somogyi.
As a reminder, EXPO international exhibition was held four times in Spain and once in Portugal. Spain and Portugal shared their experience in holding international exhibitions of that level, as well as subsequent usage of exhibition facilities and infrastructure.
