Historical Museum
The Historical Museum formerly known as the Lenin Museum is located at Ala-Too Square and is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 15:00.
The museum offers its visitors the opportunity to view such exhibits as the samples of rock paintings, the Bronze Age household items, nomad jewelry dating from the 1st to the 5th century AD, Turkic stone collection, Talas stones with runic inscriptions, ancient ceramics, glass and metal items, as well as the great number of ancient coins.
The museum has an extensive collection of ethnographic objects of late 19th and early 20th centuries, including felt, leather, wool and wood works of Kyrgyz craftsmen, Kyrgyz knitted and embroidery works, national costumes and traditional women's jewelry and horse harnesses and gear of high artistic merit.
