Bishkek Restaurants: Kyrgyz, Uzbek and Dungan


 
 
"Jalal-Abad Cafe"
Address: Kievskaya & Togolok Moldo

Description: Indoors a fairly blase Kyrgyz Restaurant but outside in the summer one of On of Bishkek's only "Chaikhanas" (Outdoor Tea-house) serving inexpensive Kyrgyz and other local food. Come early in the week for a full menu.

Entrees start at: 30 soms

"Avrasia"

Address: Chui near Osh Bazaar (half a block west of Molodai Gvardia)
Description: Good, inexpensive Dungan cooking. Two hot (tomato based) and hotter red sauces come standard with ever meal. Nice outdoor seating under trees in the summer.

"Faeiza"

Address: Jybek Jylu (just west of Turusbekova)

Description: Ordinary atmosphere but considered to have the best plov in town.
Entrees start at: 50 soms

"Express Cafe"

Address: Moscovskaya (half a block west of Sovietksaya - near the ACCELS office)

Description: a popular good mid priced place to have lunch. Great Plov and good location but not the greatest service.

Entrees start at: 40 soms

“Consul”

Address: Orozbekova & Frunze

Description: Central Asian and Russian food catering to higher budgets. Portions are not very big but there is a pool hall downstairs.

Entrees start at: 50 soms
