A group of Uzbek and Kyrgyz scientists will conduct joint studies of the Inylchek Glacier and unique lake with floating icebergs, report Uzbek mass media. Global climate fluctuation has caused an ablation of glaciers, so the scientist will go out to evaluate their present state.
“It is impossible “to stop” the process of the climate fluctuation, but it is possible to adapt to it, for example, using water-saving technologies, controlling jointly the water resources to minimize the damage incurred by national economy and human health in the region. In fact, things are not all that bad, since the ablation and climate fluctuation is a cyclical process, which lasts about three thousand years in average, and no full ablation threatens the Earth”, says Maxim Petrov, Glacial Geology Laboratory Manager at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.
