Ski-Resort Orlovka, Kyrgyzstan

Orlovka is a 90-minute drive from Manas Airport and shares great slopes of different levels of difficulty. The ski base is a ten minute drive outside of Orlovka and it is recommended to sleep at the ski base as the town itself doesn’t offer any accommodations.

The road up to the ski resort is usually covered by snow. But even without 4 wheel drive you will arrive safelyto the first parking lot. Only the last part up to the accommodations could be a bit tricky. But who doesn’t relay enough on his car can easily hike up (5 minutes) to the centre of the resort.

Snow cover is usually reliable as all slopes are north faced and a large snow making system guarantees good snow conditions even in snow-poor winters. The season lasts from (mid) December until March. The resort is situated at 1,200m and the “cupala”, the highest point of the ski area is at 1,800m. The slopes in between may let beat a carving hart a bit faster, if he or she sees the wide and perfectly prepared slopes of Orlovka. The single nursery slope “Malisch” in the centre of the base is ideal for practicing first turns or to enjoy skiing after dinner – it can however get crowded at the weekends as there are a lot of beginners practicing. The lodgings are nestled in the heart of the base and while drinking a coffee in the Restaurant you can easily overlook the beginner lift.

Furthermore the ski base has a rental centre with modern ski equipment from Switzerland, sauna with a Swimming Pool, ski instructors as well as snow cats for renting.
