Cultural tour 2

Cities: Bishkek – Son Kul – Issyk Kul - Bishkek

Itinerary:

 

Day 1: Bishkek
Arrival in Bishkek. Transfer to the hotel. Sightseeing tour: Oak Park, Ala -Too Square, Philarmonic hall, Statue of Manas, Victory Square. Overnight in the hotel.

 

Day 2: Bishkek – Cholpon-Ata
Transfer from Bishkek to Cholpon-Ata. On the way stop to see Burana tower, which is left from ancient city Balasagyn (XI - XIII). Next stop is an open air museum of petroglyphs in Cholpon-Ata. There will be an excursion in open-air art gallery of stone, said to date from 500 BC – 100 AD, they depict wolves, long-horned ibex, goats, horses, snow leopards, sacrifices and some hunting scenes.   Overnight in the hotel.

 

Day 3: Cholpon-Ata – Karakol – Jety-Oguz
Transfer to Karakol. City tour in Karakol: visiting Prjevalsky museum, Wooden Orthodox Church, Dungan mosque in Chinese style.
Transfer to Jety-Oguz gorge. Your guide will tell you a legend about Jety-Oguz (seven bulls) and Broken Heart rock. Overnight stay in the yurt camp.

 

Day 4: Jety-Oguz – Kochkor
Transfer to Kochkor along the Southern Shore of Issyk-Kul lake. On the way visit to Skazka gorge, fantastic gorge with red mountain formations. One of the best views on the Issyk-Kul Lake is guaranteed. On arrival you will visit a felt carpet workshop in Kochkor. It’s a place where you can see the process of making Kyrgyz national felt carpets. Dinner with Kyrgyz family. Family run accommodation.

 

Day 5: Kochkor – Son-Kul
Transfer to Son-Kul (120 km). Son-Kul is one of the highest lakes in Kyrgyzstan (2030 m above sea level). It’s a place where you can experience a nomadic life. You will have a chance to ride a horse, see edelweiss flowers, camels, yaks, golden eagles, and to see how local women make Kyrgyz national drink – Kymyz (mare’s milk). This is a remote mountain lake situated on a treeless, high mountain plateau ( 3016 m ) where shepherds bring the livestock in the summertime, establish a camp where they will live – setting up their yurts. In this magnificent place you can see hundreds of herds and a lot of different yurts.  Dinner Overnight in the yurt camp.

 

Day 6: Son-Kul – Bishkek
Transfer to Bishkek. Afternoon is free. Overnight in the hotel.

 

Day 7: Bishkek - Airport
Transfer to the airport. Fly home.

Bishkek - 4 star hotel;
Jety Oguz - Yurts (5-6 people in 1 yurt);
Kochkor - Home stay (B&B), family run accommodation;
Issyk Kul - Royal Beach Hotel (***) or similar;
Son Kul - Yurts (5-6 people in 1 yurt).
Budget Option:
Bishkek - 2 star Guest House;
Jety Oguz - Yurts (5-6 people in 1 yurt);
Kochkor - Home stay (B&B), family run accommodation;
Issyk Kul - Guest House in Cholpon-Ata;
Son Kul - Yurts (5-6 people in 1 yurt).

Price includes

 

- Twin accommodation;
- Meals – groups 1-5 people – only breakfast included; groups 6-10 people – full board;
- Transportation throughout the whole trip.
- English speaking guide;
- Sightseeing tour program in all cities according to the program, including entrance fees to sights, museums. Camera/video fees are not included and paid separately;
- Payment for 1 extra night in Bishkek on the Day 1 in case of early arrival.

- Consular fees paid upon collection of the entrance visa to Kyrgyzstan;
