Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (1860 -1904)

The brilliant Russian novelist, the author of the well-known plays “Seagull”, “Uncle Vanya”, “The Cherry Orchard”. Chekhov’s talent was initially revealed in short stories where he showed the life of ordinary people, provincial landlords, village doctors etc. Using subtle humor and light sadness Chekhov managed to describe their monotonous life, dreams that did not come true, unrealized strivings.
