Museum of rich Novosibirsk history

The museum is situated in a historical building, which was built in 1911. Some time ago the City Trade building was on that place where the administrative offices and trade enterprises’ chambers were placed. The museum was founded in 1920; it has been here since 1987. The museum’s exhibits tells about the ancient history of this land present the ancient land history, culture and everyday life of native Siberian people, villagers and town dwellers, about the history of settling Siberian land. The museum’s collection includes also the ethnographic collection and the cult objects collection – a unique collection of shamans’ clothes and tambourines, collection of furniture of XVIII-XX centuries, collections of jewels, weapons, figured stones and natural history collection.
