These unique sources are 30 km to the east from Xi’an under Mount Lishan. They were discovered about 3,000 years ago and were the favorite vacation spot of Chinese emperors. The uniqueness of the springs is not only in their temperature which fluctuates between 43Ń and 109Ń. The water contains great number of minerals which are effective in treatment of diseases and do you a lot of good when you simply swim there.
Near the springs a beautiful resort was built. The ponds, swimming baths and garden pavilions were restored in their greatness in the days of Tang dynasty when it had been one of the favorite imperial resorts. The water from geothermal springs is fed by pipes to the complex of 60 big and small pools and baths capable of hosting 400 people at once.
Above the pools there is a museum; behind the complex you will see the forest covering Mount Lishan slopes. The mountain is also known for the Taoist temple dedicated to the “Old Mother” Nu Ba.
The complex is supplemented with picturesque landscape of gardens and parks with numerous pavilions and temples.
