Avaza, a resort in the Turkmen Caspian segment, having been under construction from 2007, is rapidly developing into a modern and multi-functional seaside megalopolis. The Avaza resort, holding a special place in Turkmenistan touristic plans, will become the country’s first free economic zone providing the investors and companies with tax benefits and customs facilities. A new airport, power station, water-desalinating plant, water treatment facility and a number of sanatorium-and-spa institutions, put into operation on a regular basis, have been already erected in the first development stage of Avaza. An aqua-park, yacht club, seaquarium, indoor ski complex, cycle track and casino-city will be built soon in the second stage of its development.
Owing to the rapid construction rates, Avaza will host the country’s first-ever international tourist congress in September 2013, - reports press agency Trend. Officials and leading specialists from national travel agencies of different countries, investors and market analysts of the world’s tourist industry as well as foreign investors are expected to take part in the congress.
