Ashgabat opened an international airport complex new terminal

New terminal opened in Ashgabat airportAshgabat hosted an opening ceremony of Terminal-2 of the International Airport new complex. With effect from March 26, 2014, the Turkmenistan Airlines will operate the local and international flights from this terminal - according to the state news site (TDH).

The Terminal total area of 14,000 m2 features modern equipment, enabling to maintain a high-level service of 1,200 passengers an hour on international and local flights. Commissioning of the passenger Terminal-2 completed the first construction stage of the new International Airport in Ashgabat.

As a reminder, by order of Turkmenistan Airlines State National Service, a Turkish company is building in Ashgabat the International Airport complex, the largest in Central Asia, with an acceptance rate of 1,600passengers an hour, on the site of the existing airport. Over forty facilities, in total, fitted with the most modern equipment to allow the new Ashgabat airport to accept any aircraft type and capacity, while ensuring international standards of service will be built on the complex area of over 1,200 ha.
