“excellent views of the city from our hotel” Kenyon Weaver (USA)
Reviewed March 30, 2012

As requested, we had true suites, with a separate room set off from the bedroom, and two bathrooms. We had excellent views of the city from our hotel. It is walking distance to some nearby cafes.
This hotel is "High Soviet", by which I mean that the rooms look impressive, but they are not comfortable. Even though the rooms are large and elegant, they are not warm, and the bathrooms somewhat smelly with poorly-designed plumbing. The beds were hard. The blankets were not sufficient. The café bar was terrible.
Conclusion: Central Asia has come a long way, and I have stayed in comfortable hotels in all of the new republics, including Oguzkent/Sofitel (Turkmenistan); Royal Tulip (Kazakhstan); Park Hotel (Bishkek); and the Hyatt (Dushanbe). I think I would recommend placing tourists in a different hotel.
