In 2011, more than 1 million foreigners visited Uzbekistan. It was reported at the final meeting of the “Uzbektourism” National Tourism Company.
Last year, 69 companies and 55 hotels obtained licenses for tourism activities. Thus, 828 tour companies operate in Uzbekistan to date. 510 of them provide tour operator services, 318 companies are the hotel industry.
In the framework of targeted measures to develop tourism in the regions in 2012, it is planned to build 77 hotels, create 90 tourism sights, create 70 service points for tourists and purchase 53 buses and mini-buses to serve tourists.
