On the threshold of celebration of the Independence Day of Uzbekistan in Fergana, preparation is on a full swing for opening the reconstructed building of the airport. The renewed airport building is equipped with modern ventilation and air-conditioning system, luggage processing, fire safety and new storehouse for fuels and lubricants.
Airport capacity will remain as before with 400 people per hour, however conditions of passenger reception have improved. All official premises are moved to the first floor, and passenger services are arranged downstairs.
The airport reconstruction project is estimated to be 18 bln UZS (Uzbek soums).
It was reported by the representative office of National Air Company Uzbekistan Airways at the press-conference dedicated to the Air Force Day and 23th anniversary of Independence of Uzbekistan.
