Wine Festival to be held in Tashkent

Wine Festival, TashkentIn the framework of the 20th anniversary of Tashkent International Tourism Fair (TITF-2014) that will be held on 6-8 October, there will organized the first International Wine Festival ‘Sunny grapes’.

Organizers of the wine festival are ‘Uzvinprom-holding’ company, National Company ‘Uzbektourism’ and Advertising agency ‘Great Silk Road’.

The decision to organize is directly connected with intention of Uzbekistan to enter The International Organisation of Vine and Wine (acronym OIV, from its French language name L'Organisation Internationale de la Vigne et du Vin). Festival organizers think that the membership in the prestigious organization will create new perspectives for domestic wine development.

The exposition of wine festival will take place along the city channel Anhor on the territory of Uzexpocentre. Festival guests will have an opportunity to evaluate local wine products, participate in master classes, and see presentations of local and European winemakers from France, Italy, Bulgaria and Hungary.

Apart from that, foreign guests of the festival will be offered organized wine tours to Parkent district of Tashkent region where there is one of the most prosperous wine factories of Uzbekistan ‘Khamkor’.

Tashkent Wine Festival is not only an opportunity to present Uzbek winery but also an additional incentive to develop the wine tourism further.
