Why Machinery Central Asia 2008 ?
Machinery and Engineering Industry in Uzbekistan
- Now there are over 100 branches of industry in Uzbekistan connected with machinery construction.
- At present time Uzbekistan provides a number of countries with machines and equipment for complex mechanization of cotton growing. Uzbekistan ranks second to USA on manufacture of mechanical cotton harvesters.
- Special machines are manufactured by plants which are considered as main enterprises of agricultural engineering – Tashselmash, Uzbekselmash, Chirchikselmash.
- To support cotton complex, construction of reservoir storages, canals and all irrigation system it was created Irrigation Engineering which is necessary for development of agricultural sector.
- In connection with cotton growing development there is a need to produce all-purpose tractor trailers for bulk handling of cotton, and other mechanisms. Mentioned trailers and mechanisms as well as all-purpose tractors are produced by Tashkent Tractor Plant (TTZ). Sister Company of TTZ in Asaka (Andijan Region) also manufactures trailer. On the base of this plant and with assistance of South Korea company “Daewoo” in 1996 Motor-Car Factory producing 200 thousands cars a year was built. Startup of this Factory encouraged development of Transport Engineering in Uzbekistan.
- Engineering plants manufacturing machines and equipment for ginneries fat-and-oil complexes are located in Tashkent, Andijan, Samarkand and Kattakurgan.
- Use of various machines and mechanisms in national economy, especially in agriculture, led to creation of production on spare parts manufacturing and repair technical service. Such manufacturers were built in almost all regions. Samarkand Plant “Khlopkomash” is the largest enterprise specialized on spare parts production.
- Lately by development of engineering complex connection between industries intensified. Creation of Uzbekistan textile industry is specifying development of textile machinery construction.
- Chichik Chemical Engineering Plant produces machinery for chemical industry enterprises.
- Abundance of nature resources of copper, zinc, silicon, kaolin, high-silica sand, natural gas, and labor availability have created prerequisites for development of Electrical and Power Industry. The largest enterprises of this industry are Tashkent Cable Plant “Uzcable”, JSC “Uzelktroapparat”, “Andijan Elektroapprat” and “Andijancable”. Also “Zenit” Plant (TV and video equipment) and “Algorithm” Plant (TV sets and other technologies) are operating in Tashkent.
- Developed infrastructure and availability of skilled specialists create favourable conditions for snowballing of all industries.
