The one-day tour to Kunya-Urgench, the city located over several centuries at a crossroad of trade routes connected China and Europe. Kunya-Urgench reached its fullest flourishing in the X-XIII centuries, when it was the capital of the huge and prosperous Khorezmshakh State. Later, good luck left this city: it experienced a terrible invasion of Genghiz Khan Mongols, conquest of Tamerlane, becoming a desert in the XVI century because Amu-Darya changed its watercourse direction. These adversities razed this glorious town to the ground, and after several centuries of prosperity it reduced to dead ruins. We offer you to visit the ancient capital of the Khorezmshakh State and see some of its survived monuments which will exemplify you the rich variety of the medieval Islamic architecture of the Central-Asian region.
