You are invited to a five-day tour to hospitable Azerbaijan. You will visit the Azerbaijan capital Baku, where ancient mosques and caravanserais coexist with modern Flame Towers, as if leaped from the pages of science fiction novels. You will see the mysterious temple of fire-worshipers on the Absheron peninsula and natural Yanar Dag eternal flame burning from ancient times and mentioned by the great traveler Marco Polo. You will also visit one of the oldest settlements of Khinalug, founded more than 5,000 years ago, and an open air museum of petroglyphs.

Tour itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Baku
 
Arrival in Baku, upon arrival you will be met by the driver and transferred to the hotel. Check-in at noon.
Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Baku
 
Meet your guide and start sightseeing tour in Old Town – Icheri Sheher. Visit the Palace of the Shirvans, Maiden's Tower, Juma Mosque, antiques and carpet shops. Enjoy strolling narrow streets of the Old Town. Continue to Martyr's Cemetery with breathtaking panoramic views of the city and the Bay of Baku. Have a walk along the Baku Boulevard. Enjoy the views of Baku architecture. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Baku – Absheron peninsula – Baku
 
Today you will visit the area of the Greater Baku and Absheron peninsula. First stop is Ateshgah – temple of fire worshippers located in Suraxani village. Zoroastrians from India travelled thousands of kilometers to Ateshgah to worship fire coming out of the earth. Continue to “Gala” Museum Complex where you can discover archaeological artifacts and explore elements of traditional living style. Visit Yanar Dag Mountain with natural gas burning for several thousands of years. Return to Baku. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Baku – Khinalug – Baku
 
In the morning depart north-west of Baku. Drive through Red Village (Krasnaya Sloboda), the biggest settlement of Mountain Jews in Azerbaijan. The road to Khinalug lies through picturesque mountain road on the altitude of 2,000 m. Enjoy breathtaking views of the landscape. Khinalug It is one of most ancient settlements in the country where people have been continuously living for more than 5,000 years. Return to Baku. On the way back stop at Quba mass grave. Arrive in Baku. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Baku – Gobustan Reserve – Baku
 
Check-out till noon. In the morning drive out of the city to Gobustan National Park. Pay a visit to the Petroglyphs Museum and explore petroglyphs dating back to 10,000 BC. Continue to mud volcanoes in Gobustan Reserve that is home to almost half of world’s mud volcanoes. Return to Baku. Free time. Transfer to Baku International Airport. End of the tour.
