Naryn Guest House

Naryn (Sunny in Mongolian ) is located on the banks of the eponymous river, one of the main confluents of Syr Darya River, near the “Gate to China” (the ancient name for Torugart gorge which is now the main transport corridor from Kyrgyzstan to China). The route from Naryn to the south is still an active ancient trading route (once part of the Silk Road). It travels through Torugart gorge, past Chatyr-Kul Lake, to the Chinese city of Kashgar (ancient oasis on the Silk Road, a rapidly developing modern city nowadays).

One of the University of Central Asia (UCA) corpuses is placed in Naryn. There is a free economic zone, Torugart customs office, consular department of Kyrgyzstan Foreign Ministry. Tash-Rabat, an ancient stone monastery and the Silk Road caravanserai (10th century), is also located nearby.
