As the Silk Road crossed from China to Europe, it had to cover some of the most formidable landscapes in the world. The Taklamakan Desert across 337,000 km2 (130,000 miles2), and the Tian Shan Mountains, just to the west, reach all the way up to the sky. Urumqi, Kashgar and Osh were essential to caravans trying to navigate across these areas, as they provided a chance to rest and exchange ideas with the local residents. The China-Kyrgyzstan Group Tour also takes you to the natural sights of these two countries, including Karakul Lake and Lake Issyk-Kul, and introduces you to local families, who have preserved traditions and recipes up to the present day. Group tours are perfect for exploring places like the cities and mountains of China and Kyrgyzstan at a shared cost, while also enjoying the company of like-minded travelers from around the world.
