The Boysun Bahori Folklore Festival is a celebration of spring held in Boysun every year. This small village has been included in the tentative list for the UNESCO World Heritage list as a Mixed (Cultural and Natural) site, and for good reason. Boysun has exceptionally preserved its traditional culture, including songs, dances, and clothing, and it all comes to life during the Boysun Bahori Folklore Festival. Spend some time in this colorful festival and enjoy the coming of spring with like-minded travelers on this group tour. In addition, take extra time to discover Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara, and see Uzbekistan’s history, culture, and cuisine all in one trip.

Tour itinerary:

Day 1, 25.04 We: Tashkent – arrival
Arrive in Tashkent. You will be met by Advantour driver and transferred to the hotel (check in at noon). At 12:00 meet your guide to start sightseeing in the capital of Uzbekistan, the biggest city in Central Asia. You will start with exploring the Old City. Visit Khast-Imam Complex where the world famous Quran, holy book, of Caliph Uthman has been preserved. The complex consists of Barak-Khan Madrasah, Tillya Sheykh Mosque, Saint Abu Bakr Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum and the Islamic Institute of Imam al-Bukhari. Continue to Chorsu Bazaar. Then take a ride on Tashkent Metro to the city center to walk through Amir Timur Square, Independence Square and visit Applied Arts Museum. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2, 26.04 Th: Tashkent – Termez
At 05:30 transfer to the local airport for morning flight to Termez departing at 07:10 (661 km, 1 h 50 min). You will arrive at 09:00; the driver and guide will meet you. Start exploring Termez, one of the oldest cities in Central Asia renowned for Buddhist relics. Visit Kokildor-Ota Khanaka, Fortress Kirk Kiz – a summer residence of Samani rulers, Sultan Saodat Ensemble, and Zurmala Tower – Buddha's stupa. Continue to Buddhist archaeological sites of Kara-Tepa*, Fayaz-Tepa and Al-Hakim at-Termezi Mausoleum. Free time in the evening. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3, 27.04 Fr: Termez – Boysun
Transfer to Boysun (150 km). Two-three-hour drive from Termez towards the Boysun Mountains will take you to a quite different world, where centuries-old customs and culture of local people remained almost unchanged. On the way to Baysun stop in Sayrob to see two 950 years old plane-trees and water ponds with fish. On the way to Boysun you will pass by Darband settlement and Hodja Moyhona where you will enjoy beautiful nature, gorges and mountains. In Baysun you will visit Craftsmen workshop located in the dwelling, workshop “Boysun Art” developed with the assistance of UNESCO. Overnight at the guesthouse.

Day 4, 28.04 Sa: Folklore Festival Boysun Bahori
The major day of the tour starts with the Folklore Festival “Boysun bahori” (Spring in Baysun). You will see performance of singers, enjoy ceremonial songs and dances. You will get a unique experience to see in Surkhan oasis the careful and respectful attitude to cultural and spiritual wealth of Uzbek people.
In the late afternoon drive to Red canyon. Return to Boysun. Overnight at the guesthouse.

Day 5, 29.04 Su: Boysun – Shahrisabz – Samarkand
In the morning take the road to Samarkand via Shakhrisabz (280 km, 4 h). Stop in Shakhrisabz for city tour. Visit Mausoleum of Jakhongir in Dor-us Siyodat Memorial Complex, remains of Ak-Saray Palace, Dor-ut Tilovat Ensemble with Kok-Gumbaz Mosque and burial vault of Tamerlane’s father. In the afternoon continue driving to Samarkand (90 km, 1.5-2 h). Arrive in Samarkand, transfer to the hotel.

Day 6, 30.04 Mo: Samarkand
After breakfast start guided city tour in Samarkand. Visit spectacular Registan Square, remains of Bibi Khanum Mosque, Siab Bazaar, Ulugbek Observatory, Shakhi-Zinda Necropolis and Gur Emir Mausoleum – the mausoleum of Amir Timur. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 7, 01.05 Tu: Samarkand – Bukhara
At 08:30 transfer to the railway station to take the high-speed Afrosiyob train departing to Bukhara at 09:40. You will arrive in Bukhara at 11:15. The driver and guide will meet you and start the city tour. Visit Sitorai Mokhi-Khosa – the summer residence of Bukhara’s last emir, unique site combining Oriental and Russian architecture. Continue to the Mausoleum of Bakhouddin Naqshbandi. Enjoy free time in the evening. Dinner and a national show at Nadir Divan-begi Madrasah. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8, 02.05 We: Bukhara - Tashkent
Start the second day in Bukhara discovering Ark Fortress, Bolo-Khauz Mosque, Samanids and Chashma-Ayub mausoleums. Spend your afternoon in fascinating Old Bukhara included in UNESCO World Heritage List. Explore Kalyan Minaret, Kalyan Mosque and Miri-Arab Madrasah, Magoki-Attori Mosque, madrasahs of Ulugbek and Abdulazizkhan, trade domes, Lyabi Hauz Ensemble, Chor-Minor Madrasah. Transfer to the Airport to take the flight to Tashkent at 21:55. Upon arrival at 23:00 transfer to the hotel.

Day 9, 03.05 Th: Tashkent – departure
Check-out from the hotel at noon. Free time until transfer to Tashkent International Airport. End of the tour.
