National Gallery in Yerevan has acquired new paintings The collection of the National Gallery in Yerevan is replenished with fifteen new paintings of best-known artists to celebrate International Museum Day – May, 18 2014, - reports information portal Imyerevan.com. The paintings were donated to the National Gallery by Christine Argyle, Director of the Los Angeles gallery “Argyle”, and wife of the famous artist Jean Kazanchyan. The ceremony was attended by French Ambassador to Armenia Henri Reynaud and Armenian Deputy Minister of Culture Arev Samuelyan.

The Gallery acquired four paintings of the great Salvador Dali and seven paintings of the outstanding Russian painter, one of the founders of abstract art Vasily Kandinsky. The gallery's collection was also replenished with works of German sculptor and surrealist-graphic artist Hans Bellmer.
