Public national television channel of France showed reportage about the Mount AraratPublic national television channel France 2 presented reportage about Mount Ararat, a famous symbol of Armenia, writes the News Agency Armen Press with reference to the television website. The filming group of France 2 has visited the place where according to the legend the Noah’s Ark had landed. The result of the trip was a 4-minute reportage talking of tender attitude of Armenians to the Mount Ararat.

“Ararat is the part of our history. Ararat is more than just a mountain for us”, said Armenian climber Vardan Kyurumyan. The story highlights that the image of Ararat met everywhere one way or another; the name of the mount can be seen on the roof of the cognac factory, hotel signs, cafes and restaurants. Ararat is even portrayed on the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia.

The reportage says that hundreds of enthusiasts climb the Mount Ararat every summer.

For reference: Mount Ararat is famous with its biblical stories. According to legends, this was the place where Noah’s Ark had landed after the Noah’s flood had begun. Ararat attracts attention not only of tourists but also alpinists and historians. For Armenians, Ararat is the sacred mountain and a symbol of motherland.
