During the excavation works on the territory near the fortress Dashtadem, in Aragatsotn region, a group of archaeologists discovered a medieval palace construction, - reports the news agency ArmInfo. Scientists believe that the building served as a medieval throne-room dating back to the 11-13th centuries.

It seems that the throne-room was used by one of the medieval rulers for holding all types of ceremonies and reception of guests. The head of the expedition, the director of the Institute of Archaeology, Pavel Avetisyan told that archaeologists were surprised by this discovery on the territory of the Western Armenia. He also noted that very few number of medieval palaces had been studied well around Armenia, thus Dashtadem finding could be named one of the most interesting archaeological discoveries of the year.
