Why Azerbaijan ?

• Due to favorable investment climate created in the country $24 billion was invested in the economy of Azerbaijan over the past 10 years. This is one of the highest figures per capita in CIS.
• In 2006 investments in Azerbaijan made up to $6, 55 billion. Totally investments in economy of Azerbaijan in 2007 will amount to $9 bln. In total in 2007-2010 years volume of investments into country economy will make up $38 bln.
• GDP from January to October of 2006 has made up more than $14 billion. It is 34% more in comparison with the figure of the same period in 2005. Totally, GDP level is expected at $20, 6 billion for 2006 and $24,66 for 2007 year, with 24.3% increase.
• In 2007 according to the state budget about $40 million will be allotted for needs of medical institutions, which are under authorise of Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan; $38.5 million will be allotted for purchase of medicines and about $19.5 million will be allotted for purchase of equipment and transport.
• In 2006 the foreign investments in healthcare field of Azerbaijan Republic has amounted to more than $34 mln, and according to forecasts in 2007 the total investments will be more than $114mln.
• The World Bank allotted $50 mln. for carrying out healthcare reforms in Azerbaijan. The amount will be spent on construction of healthcare centres in five regions of the country with in-patient and out-patient departments and ambulance services.
• The second program of development of regions also stipulates reconstruction and construction of 20 medicine-and-prophylaxis institutions (MPI) in the cities of Azerbaijan and 10 MPI in Baku and suburb.
