Why Azerbaijan?

• Azerbaijan is the biggest state of the South Caucasus with the population of 8.5 millions and the total area of 86.6 sq.m.
• In the next 20 years the oil product revenues of Azerbaijan will exceed $200 billion.
• The 2004-2008 State Program of social-economical development of the regions of the Azerbaijan Republic envisages a 10-15% growth in all branches of the GDP structure, including agriculture and expects the volume of investment from all financial sources to reach $16.8 billion, approximately 60% of which will be targeted at the development of the regions.
• According to the information given by the Ministry of Economical Development the gross product of Azerbaijan will increase in comparison with 2003 by 2,3 and become 15 billion US dollars by 2008. In accordance with the prognosis the part of oil sector gross product will be 85% and the region's part will reach 60-65% .60% of all investment value will be sent to the regions.
• Opening of 600 thousand new jobs and growth of the salary by over 3.1 times is expected in the republic in 2004-2008.
• Azerbaijan is the leader among the CIS Republics in increasing the investment value. Last year the value of foreign investments made to the economy increased by 36%. In 2007 due to the financial resources the investments made to the economy of Azerbaijan may increase to 4,7 billion US dollars.
• Azerbaijan is the first among the CIS Republics in increasing investments to the main fund during the last 5 years.
• Due to the information of Intergovernmental Statistics Committee of the CIS Azerbaijan takes the first place among CIS republics in increasing gross product. In January-April 2007 the value of gross product in Azerbaijan reached 8,1 billion US dollars and this is larger by 37,1% than it was in January-April 2006.The value of gross product in that period became 940,3 US dollars.
• In January-April 2007 there was invested 3208,6 million dollars to the economy of Azerbaijan. It is 110,6% larger than it was during the same period in 2006.
