The main construction of Astana, the complex for holding EXPO-2017, is in process. The government of the country has informed that construction works has been accomplished by 30% this year. The site of the exhibition town covers 174 ha with its main construction object - Kazakhstan pavilion, which has already drawn tremendous attention to itself. The Pavilion will be the biggest complete sphere in the world after its completion. The wind-powered generators will be installed on the roof of the Pavilion as well as on other sites of the complex to supply the building with energy. This corresponds to the main idea of EXPO-2017 – image of the future energy.

The entire complex is equipped with latest eco technologies. Computers will measure and regulate the content of oxygen in the air, illumination; air humidity as well as many other functions will be automated. By 2017, the exhibition complex will be an innovative visual concept of the ideal city.

As reported by the news site bnew.kz, the high time of installation and construction works are planned for 2015. All works should be completed by September 2016. There are currently more than 3400 workers involved in the process. In summer, during the high time of the working season, the number of workers may increase by 20%.

The usage of exposition objects after exhibition is being discussed. It is planned that after EXPO-2017 all hotels and Congress-Center of the town will be used for intended purposes, and some buildings including the Kazakhstan Pavilion will be used for exhibitions, where exhibits from different parts of the world museums will be presented.
