In 30 km to south-east from Novosibirsk there locates the Academic town, the holy of holies of Russian science. The project of the town building was approved in the middle of the last century. According to that project, a science center of Novosibirsk had been set up on a separate territory not far from the city. The Academic town gave a new impulse to the city’s development. Many world-famous scientists studies from the Novosibirsk Academic town. Today many world-famous research centers thanks to which Novosibirsk has become a place of many science breakthroughs especially in the sphere of nuclear physics, works here. Nowadays the Academic town continues being a stronghold of Russian science. Besides, Academic town is a perfect place for leisure. There are Botanic garden, yacht-club, and entertainment centers at the Academic town. A historic-architectural museum is located here the Academic town as well. There have been collected examples of Siberian folks’ culture, from petroglyphs to luxurious houses in this museum under open sky.
