Tours: The Urals at the Junction of Epochs

Tours: The Urals at the Junction of Epochs Ganina Yama, Yekaterinburg

Immediately after the East European Plane there comes a huge mountainous region dividing Russia into Europe and Asia. The part of Russian history related to the discovery of the Urals is divided into "before" and "after". That event marked the entry of Russia into a new era of great achievements: it marked the development of Trans-Urals region, Siberia and the Far East. The building of the first Russian plants and cities around them turned Russia into the great empire whose borders stretched far eastward.

Our tour offers you an interesting journey around the memorial places of the Urals, associated with the history of its development in the 17th - 18th centuries: the first cities, factories, mines, monuments to the legendary Demidov dynasty - the first Urals manufacturers (Neviansk Tower, the White House in Kyshtym) and the royal family whose existence was tragically cut short there (Ganina Yama, Ipatyev House).
