Bairamalikhan-Kala, Merv

Another landmark of New Merv is Bairamalikhan-Kala. The fortress was constructed in the form of a three-wall structure and connected to the western wall of Abdullakhan-Kala.

The length of the western wall was almost 750 meters, the length of the northern and southern - 500 meters. Now only some part of the northern wall and little fragments of the southern one have survived. The exact date of the fortress erection has not been identified, but it is known that the name was given after the governor Bairamali-khan (1781-1784) who was loved by the people.
